Default Did anyone hear about this?

I didn't realize until this morning that it made the national news.

Motive of woman unclear in slayings : News-Record.com : Greensboro & the Triad's most trusted source for local news and analysis
This happened about 15 miles from where I live. Athough I didn't know any of these people involved, and some of them were friends of friends, I am still at a loss for words over all this. Something hardcore must have happened in her head for her to snap like that. From what I have heard, she was all about those kids up until that point, but no one will really ever know. This makes me really really sad.

It's hard to comprehend Luke. We just had a male nurse here set fire in the aged care home where he worked. He acted like the big hero in front of the media and was going to be nominated for a bravery award. The ninth victim died yesterday and there may be more. The brain is one strange organ!

My wife told me about that last night. Her family lives in Winston-Salem--I'm not sure if they knew any of the victims.

It's crazy. Senseless.

I got really addicted to Oprah Winfrey's new show LifeClass. She had a lady on there who had 4 children, they were a bit older, like teens and pre-teens. She went out one morning for a walk with her friend around the nieghborhood while the children were still asleep. When she returned, she found that her ex husband had entered the home, shot all 4 children and then killed himself.
Her grief feel her grief through the TV. It was horrible. She said that every day was a struggle for her not to take her own life because everyone that she loved was gone. It was so bad that her family stayed with her 24 hours a day to make sure that she was safe, to herself.
Her name was Christine McFadden. You should look up her story. It is terrible.

Jeez, why take it out on the kids? How can you face your own kids/nephews and pull the trigger?

I read about this tragic event yesterday. What a tangled mess of relationships. I feel for the innocents who lost thier lives and the ones remaining to try picking up the pieces of the now shattered lives.

Some people are really fked up in the head. There's no way to understand this kind of behaviour.

Maybe it is something in the water in Greensboro. Hubby's ex lived in Greensboro and It seemed the longer she did the crazier she got. Fortunately when she finally snapped she only took her own life.

Think it has something to do with the state of the economy in this Country at the moment? People are so frustrated and at their wits end, that they just can't take it anymore. They look to the people around them, and blame them for their being in that situation, because they need someone to blame. It isn't their own fault they got fired or laid off. They look at their kids and think, If I just didnt have you to feed, I might be able to make it. Or their spouse and think, If you would just get off your butt and find a job. Or blame their ex for splitting from them taking away that extra income, and the security that came with it, while leaving them to support the kids and not getting child support.

Who knows why people do what they do. We put up with so much crap in the name of being civil, and so as not to blow up on those we love. Having no real outlet or time for an outlet for the anger, fear, frustration, etc. that we endure everyday. So that it builds, and builds, and builds, and one day, you just snap.

I'm certainly no psychologist, not have I ever even taken a class, but that is just my theory. It isnt "it" for everyone, but I wouldnt be surprised if it was "it" for a lot of people.

No disresect FG, but you sound like you're giving someone an excuse for taking someones life. If you feel this kind of pent up rage growing within you to the point where you feel capable of taking a life, you are responsible for seeking help. You are responsible for your own actions. Sh*t happens to everyone, not everyone decides to take someone elses life because of it, if you don't take on the responsibility for dealling with that before it gets to this point then you should get banged up for the rest of your life, because you're a danger to everyone, forever.
