Default Sometimes it is the camera - just upgraded the D90 to the D700! WOW!!!

So, you hear a lot around the web that its not the camera, its the photographer, and while I believe that to be VERY TRUE, I have to say, that since I got my D700, I have noticed GREAT improvements in my pictures over my D90. I just got it yesterday, and everything just seems so much better!! I LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!! The 50mm f1.8 lens I was using on my D90 never took such clear and sharp photos. You can see a sample of my shots today here https://plus.google.com/107209341760...ts/7iBaM91z68A

Just wanted to say that

Unless youre comparing dynamic range in very particular lighting conditions or shooting above 1600iso, you wont notice a difference. Hell, your 50mm lens should work BETTER on the D90 because youre using the sharpest part of the lens.

I beg to differ. The mere fact that a 50mm lens not only has a wider different field of view on the D700, it also results in a significantly smaller depth of field for similarly framed shots which, to me, is pretty evident when I'm looking at photos with a shallow depth of field. I can almost tell if someone's used a full frame sensor because of the depth of field at the given field of view.

Going from crop to full frame is not a small bump.

I've got an old Rebel (not sure which model really... It just says "Rebel". Would you happen to know??), but no lenses for it haha. With dSLRs the technology changes pretty rapidly and my a100 is super outdated. I'd love to use my mom's Konica Autoreflex TC but she won't let me

EDIT: I put the wrong camera in first hahahaha

I guess it's just my perception, but I am really loving my d700! yes a great picture can be taken on any camera, but, better equipment can equal better shots too. It all depends on the photographer. A crappy photographer will take crappy pic. No matter what the camera.

I'm just happy with my results so far
