Default Nervous as hell!

Ok, so it's 11am. in two hours, I have a photo shoot for Koloa Rum. They are an award winning rum maker here on Kauai. They are going to go national and international with their rum in the beginning of next year. They have hired me as their photographer for the entire ad campaign. This is the biggest shoot I have ever done. My photos will be seen around the world in magazine ad's, internet ad's and even on a few billboards.

I'm kind of freaking out right now. My wife knows I can do the job. I even know I can do the job, but there is always that nagging little voice in the back of my mind saying "you're gonna screw it up".

Aaargh! Maybe I should not have drank so much coffee either... Looks like a total tripod shoot... lol

Congratulations! I panic before my shots, and they're generally just little babies. Here's what my wife always tells me: "They hired *you* for a reason. You know what you're doing. You consistently make good photographs. You'll be fine."

So will you.

If you drink some of the rum pre-shoot and during shoot, then you get in the "moment" and be at one with the product.

If the photos turn out fuzzy, then you know you you've captured the 'spirit' of the image, just as the customers would see the product after use. Your clients, then, would understand.

lol, graciousness. I think I need to go for the crystal clear shots, but I could definitely use that drink about now!

Nathan, Thanks for that. I know that reality and all, but you know how it is. That whole self doubt of the artist thing. Second guessing and thinking my work is garbage.

Ok, time to start thinking of getting my game face on... I think I can process one more shot from shoot yesterday before I have to jump in the shower... *sigh*

I dunno about drinking rum before or during the shoot, but maybe having something calming like camomile tea might help you sooth your jitters.

Congrats on getting such a sweet client. Hope it all goes well. Now go out & break a leg!

Congratulations Daniel, from what I've seen you haven't a worry in the world. Kudos to you for getting their contract and I'm sure they didn't pull your name out of a hat. Go get 'em!

You'll do fine! I'm still waiting for me to be "good enough". I don't think it'll ever happen. Well only in my pipe dreams!

Glad you got that contract Daniel.
Have faith in your talent and everything will go fine.
And perhaps you can enjoy a little rum afterwards.
You did specify that in your contract, didn't you?
