Question Family Greeting Card

Hello

My neighbours want me to click a family photo for them.. So that they could use it as a greeting card to send to their relatives for christmas.
Could anyone tell me a few tips as to what they should wear, What poses? They have 2 small daughter's.
This photo would be taken in their house.. They have adequate lighting.. But those are the fluroscent tubelights..
Could someone suggest some cheap lighting I could buy or maybe I could use some lamps ??

Also some ideas on what I should do.. I was thinking abt shaped bokeh with the christmas lights, But I dont own a lens which would give me a very good DoF and I dont think the kids would also stay still..
They aren't paying me for this.. It doesn't matter.. Its just an informal shoot

I hope you guys understand what I'm trying to say here. TIA

Set the white balance to fluorescent if your camera has that option - that should make the light look more natural.

As stated, set the WB to flourescent. As for dress one can go with the matching outfits (yuch). Just some nice clothes then try some with Christmas themed props? Or in front of the tree. Do research on DOF so you can make the best out of the lens you have.

Oh,yes.and shoot RAW+ JPG so even if the WB is off you have a better chance of correcting it.

I dont think matching outfit's is a good idea :/ As you said some nice clothes maybe a santa's hat would do. Yes I will. Thank you
