Default How Much To Charge For A Civil Wedding?

So two friends of mine (one couple) are getting married this Friday 11/11/11, and they are going to be having a Civil Wedding that will last less than a hour. I will be taking the photographs, but I have no idea of how much to charge. I always have trouble with prices and how much to charge Any suggestions? Keep in mind they are my friends.

Have you tried using the search function?

Not being funny, but this question does get asked on a variation quite often.

Charge for the hour at a cut (friends) rate, then add back for PP and printing or what ever else you are giving them.

Sounds like a very informal and quick wedding.

Have you considered just doing it for free for your friends as wedding present?

Just a thought.

No, I haven't, but now that you mention it I will search away!

Yes, I have, but they want to pay me. I told them it's okay and stuff, but they really want to pay me.

Then just charge them for whatever you're comfortable with. It's hard to try and think of a rate for friends when you initially wanted to do it for free in the first place. What I can also suggest is that perhaps, instead of charging for taking photos, just charge them for the prints that they want. Then you can perhaps give them one framed photo as a wedding present later

How much did you charge for the other weddings you've done? Just figure out the time spent at one of those and divide it by the hours to get your $/hr. Then charge accordingly.

Both are pretty good ideas! Thanks!
