I used to do this with the torn up pieces of crap they sent me, and occasionally an empty candy bar wrapper. I like the brick idea better.

This is made of solid 100% win.

Seems like too much work to make a point that will more than likely be lost on the spammer.
It's much easier to just hit the delete key.
As for live junk mail. It makes pretty good fireplace kindling.

I think you missed the point.. Many companies send out "Free Post" return envelopes for things that you don't want. If you stick this on a brick, they have to pay for the overweight product. Meaning they have to pay. You don't need to put a return address on it if you don't want.. Just giggle in the knowledge that somewhere, some marketing company has just dropped a brick!

No, if only I could find a way to deal with Telemarketers.. For a while, when I had VOIP lines and free connection, I would ask them to hold, and then call their corporate HQ and ask for the Marketing director. Occasionally I got through, and would then tell this guy I was going to put them through to my partner, and then connect them.. Made me giggle thinking about this guy trying to sell something to his own boss.

Actually, I didn't. It's funny and all, but I am far too lazy to go brick hunting, or digging through trash to reciprocate. I have friends that have talked sh** to female telemarketers for 15-20 minutes at a time to make a point about them wasting their time. It's like spending $5.00 to save $1.00. JMO. Still funny though.

Thats why I love that all my incoming calls are free I can talk sh** to them all I want until they decide that they've wasted enough time lol. I don't know if I'll get around to doing the brick thing, but I did post it on facebook and I know plenty of people that would lol.

LoL... I don't speak to telemarketers... At all... If the phone rings, I usually recognise that they're marketers.. I simply put the phone down. Not speaking a word. Occasionally they'll call back, saying "I think we got cut off, and at that point my answer is simply "No we didn't, I hung up." and hang up again.. The number of marketing calls I get has dropped, I think we're on a "Waste of time" list!

I strung a guy along that was trying to sell me a septic system. Had him on line at least 45 minutes and never said more than twenty words to him. Just kept saying, "PLEASE don't hang up, I'm interested and discussing this with my wife!" Then I would lay down the phone and my teenage boys and I would roll on the floor laughing. Once my eldest picked up the phone to listen and heard the guy say, "He's ralking to his wife, but I think he's interested." The idea is, you have to waste THEIR time if they are going to waste yours.

How do I get on that list????
I got a call yesterday, some guy with a accent I couldn't understand. The line wasn't all that clear either which was a good tip off. He said his name & company so fast I couldn't understand him. So I said Hello? a couple of times & made him repeat himself. Made out I couldn't hear because of a bad line, then cut him off mid-sentence.
A lot of our telemarketer calls here in NZ are coming from call centres in India, its so bad that everyone gets their backs up as soon as they hear an Indian accent on the line. Makes me feel sorry for any Indians out there trying to conduct legitimate business.
