Arrow My New Website needs Critique

Hi,

After several years of photography and unsuccessful attempt to create my website with FREE google sites (I was thrashed by everyone on DPS for creating my website on google site and having a free gmail account), I have created my website that is not on Google Site

Dharmits Photography | My work is the fine line between dreams and reality

This website was created after I got inspiration by Reading RC's book "Get your photography on the web"

My Goals for this website:
  • To Post a photo every day and to stretch my limits in photography (I like to take candid shots, the ones that I can take without disturbing the subject, but I would like to venture in Street Photography and Portrait Photography)
  • To write something creative that strikes my mind by looking at the photo (as I do in the BLOG section)
  • To share my photos with the world (through this website)
  • To write a book on Photography that I am contemplating to write since 1 year (20% done - selected all my photos, remaining 80% is the writing and arranging the book, I think second point of writing along with photos will help here)
  • To sell photos from this website in future (If I get enough traction)
  • To sell e-books from this website in future
  • To keep this website clean from any advertising (To keep it distraction free)

I would like to hear your comments on the layout and the photos in the website.

I still need to add albums from 2006 to 2008/2009 but the ones on the website are pretty new.

Cheers
Dharmit

I would say be patience. Sometimes posts take a while to get replies back. I posted a question a while back and there were quite a few view over a few day period of time before somebody finally made a reply back.

I just took a quick look at your website and I think it looks pretty good.

I don't see anywhere that you state where you are located, how to contact you, prices etc. About you page, is about your gear. Who cares about what you shoot with as long as it looks good. Give a little insight about yourself.

I like the simple design, very clean. The images that I looked at are attractive.

Default Whoo Hoo

@RJaswal: Thanks for the tip, may be I was a bit impatient. The reason for this was that I was so excited about the new website that I wanted quick reviews, but as you said, it might take some time. I will wait. Good things take time and I will have to cultivate patience. Thanks.

@scootermcq: Thanks for the comment on the Photos. As for the About page, did you click "About" page or the Sub Page "Gear". About Page gives insight about me but I think if you had problems with the About page, then some one else might have it too. I will shift the About Page to a Sub Page and I will add Prices page as well. I will add Contact Me page and will add my mobile number as well.

I am planning to put Tutorials page as well, where visitors can have a look at the tutorials about Photography, Post Processing and setup.

Thanks guys and I will wait for more comments from you.

Cheers
Dharmit
