Nope. Haven't used either. But the key question to ask yourself is do you want high-speed sync? Because the 565EX doesn't do that (big disappointment). You could also be looking into the Nissin Di-866 for that price range.

I have a YN560, and to be honest, it ain't all that. It's ok for a second flash with my SB800 as the main flash, but as they say, you gets what you pays for.. I'm looking to replace it with an SB600. I won't get rid of the YN560, instead I'll use it for back lighting etc.. (When I finally figure out what I'm doing with the others

But the OP is already talking about multi-flash setups, and is also positing the YN-565EX, which is TTL-capable, can be a slave in the Canon proprietary wireless system AND Nikon CLS, and still does everything the YN-560 does (optical slave modes, sync port, manual zoom, etc.). It is much more similar to a 430EX than a YN-560 is.The Di-866, however, also does high-speed sync, can be used as wireless master, is controllable from the camera menu (for those bodies that do that) and is more of a straight rip on the 580EX II, for about the same price as the 430EX II, so I'd actually consider it a better buy than the YN-565EX.

I have decided to forget the Yongnuo as part of the reason I'm upgrading is that my Yongnuo flash has developed a fault and so I would rather go with a different manufacturer. Very tempted by the 430ex II but you've peaked my interest by mentioning the Di-866 |

It's just the price, but as someone said here you get what you pay for at the end of the day. |
