Default New lens!

Well, not quite new but it's a close 10 in condition and performance. Unfortunatley it's not a Nikon 70-200mm f2.8 VRll but it is an 80-200mm D ED f/2.8 and the price was right. It replaces my older D push/pull model which was quite good, but having to use a tripod collar that requires an allen key to remove or put on became a bit bothersome.

And the icing on this deal was that I listed the push/pull and my 18-200mm VRll on Ebay and they both sold on the weekend for about what I paid for them. I also sold a couple of other lenses over the past few weeks for what I wanted so all in all I'm as happy a pig in mud. Now to start making time and get serious! By sometime next year I hope to start making a few extra dollars out this game

Jeeeez - I must be tired, the errors in my post

Thanks Richard - it's nice when things go right. Also I checked our lotto on-line and discovered we'd won some cash for the past three weeks in a row - nothing big, but a nice suprise all the same

Now, we want to see pictures with the new lens. I'm pretty sure you'll make a pretty penny with your photography. Wish you the best.

*drools all over the monitor

We love new toys!

I just got (hand me down) another flash (canon 550 ex) and canon flash transmitter and I just bought a new umbrella, stand and bracket and they are sitting in my living room. On display.

Unfortunately, I can't really do proper photos because my imac is dead and can't process my photos. (*cue tears on monitor)

I could sure use some lotto winnings.......

Post some photos taken with your new baby, please!

Well, the near new lens has a focussing problem. Okay on manual focus, but it will not auto-focus sharply - and this lens is supposed be sharp DARN IT!!!

I tried the AF fine tune for this lens and used every + and - calibration. Got a tiny bit of improvement but NO SHARP FOCUS!!!!!!!

They have a 7 day return policy and I've just sent off the message. I now wait - angrilly!

I knew something would give - everything was going along too bloody well!

Don't be angry, its not the lens' fault, so long as you get the cash back, its all cool.. You'll get another chance, those are always coming up.. Our local camera shop has a bunch in stock..

By the way.. you'll never "make cash" as an amateur.. You'll just find your upgrades and gear are less expensive

Well, they told me to send it back for a full refund which I have and I ordered a brand new one - for the price difference I should have had the good sense and did that in the first place. I sure could have done with this lens this morning!

BTW Jon - if I do happen to make a few extra bucks some day I'll be happy - even if it does only cover the odd bit of gear
