I wouldn't rule it out, but that seems like a long shot. In the past, I've seen deals on beginner bundles, but I'm not sure I recall too many deals on high-end lenses. In addition, Canon and Nikon are both still recovering from the earthquakes earlier this year, and now the flooding in Thailand, so if anything, I'd expect a short-term price increase. I'm not sure how Tamron & Sigma are affected by the flooding, etc., but I believe half the time, problems stem from supply chain interruptions, which could easily affect all the vendors in the area.

Ugh. Black Friday. As long as you don't have to leave the house it might be worth a wait. People pick at me because I just wrap all my gifts in the amazon.com boxes they come in.
I worked walmart last year as black Friday security. It was funny seeing people act stupid. The best were the people coming in their Corollas and Tauruses and buying the 50" tvs that wouldn't fit in the cars.

Umm.. What's "Black Friday"?? Sounds painful..
I would expect Tamron and Sigma etc. to push their prices up if Nikon and Canon do, even if they were not effected by the disasters.. Anything to get a bit of extra cash and take advantage of short supply! And in addition, the price point is carefully calculated to have the optimum balance between unit sales and profit per item to get the maximum profit over all.. Sigma and Tamron and so on can afford to push their prices up because of short stocking of their competitors, and still get the same number of unit sales, giving them a higher overall return at no extra outlay.. So they will.. So my suggestion is "Buy now or buy in 6 months, don't expect decent prices in between." An additionally, because of the conditions in the factories, I expect the first few off the production line to be lower quality, so I'd buy now.

Lol.... Black Friday is what we Americans call the day after thanksgiving. Traditionally the biggest shopping day of the year, as it's typically about four weeks from the annual celebration of the winter solstice known as x-mass. It's called that because it keeps stores' books "in the black" I.e. Makes a lot of money. It's typically when the crazies come out and camp out overnight hoping to get a good deal, fight over cheap towels and cause harm to everyone. The other day "cyber Monday" is the Monday after thanksgiving when people do all their shopping online from work.

I see..so you lot have your sales and stuff BEFORE Xmas? Sounds like a sensible thing.. Europeans tend to wait until afterwards when we've already spent all our money on stuff we don't really want or need..
