This is a switch. It seems the Occupy Wall Street (OWS) kitchen staff are not happy that folks and possible criminal element are showing up to protest for a short time and then get a meal. Where is all the fairness the OWS folks are protesting about? They should redistribute the wealth of food they have to those without.
How silly of me, redistribution only works if it is not YOUR stuff being redistributed. It now looks like the food workers for OWS are now the dastardly 1%. Occupy Wall Street kitchen slowdown targets squatters - NYPOST.com

Now I'm not saying capitalism is better than comminism, or worse,it seems to be pretty much the same, just more honest. What these people are promoting with their "occupy" is forced communism.. They haven't asked "the people" if that's what they wan't, they're just forcing their will on the majority, and that's pretty much the same thing as they're accusing other people of. Nothing like adding a bit of hypocrysy to the mix..

Of course it is.. Some of them are criminals and are just there to get free meals!
Sorry mate, but so far I've yet to be convinced by people forcing their will on other people.

I'm genuinely curious about what you mean here. You believe that OWS is somehow imposing their will on... who? I think a much stronger argument could be made that the vast majority of OWS protesters are simply exercising their Constitutional rights.

Economics isn't binary. Saying we have to choose between laissez fiare capitalism (horrible) and Soviet communism (just as bad) is a false dichotomy. You can make things more fair to the middle-class to help improve social mobility and decrease economic inequality in a regulated capitalist market, and you won't turn into a pinko communist.
As far as the protestors themselves, I'm pretty sure they didn't set out to be a soup kitchen? They're there for a reason, agree with them or not, and their food supplies aren't inexhaustible. Not to mention the criminal element noted from the article included people brandishing knives and committing sexual assaults. We're talking "basic safety" here, not hypocrisy.

It amazes me the people that think this protest is good, or these people know what the heck they are doing there that have not actually visited and seen first hand what is going on there. These are mostly folks that want other people to pay their way -- its that plain and simple.

My problem with these people isn't the message they're trying to get accross, but that they don't seem to have considered that they're actually the rich, and have directly benifited from the work that the people they're protesting against do. Yeah, it's not fair, it's true.. ut instead of going and sitting in a tent and destroying your countries economy, why not go and do something nice for some people worse off than yourself?
