Need an advice

I am planning a hiking trip to China in December-January. Can you share any tips and tricks for winter shooting? Winter in China is cold, sunny and it snows a lot. I really don’t have lots of experience shooting in such conditions. What should I watch for? Do I need to use any filters or else?
Thank you

Sounds like you'll need lots of beer.

And spot metering technique up your sleeves

Keep your batteries warm. They lose power in the cold

Use a CPL.. It will take the glare out of the snow..

Sounds like a skiing trip, not a hiking trip.

At least you'll be able to take some nice scenics...The cold weather helps cut the smog.

I didn't get one worthwhile pic from the top of the Great Wall, and I carried a full kit! Man I was disappointed.
