I have it a love it. Fast f/2.8 aperture, sharp, contrasty and versatile. Its very sharp after f/2.8 and is a great portrait lens. I sometimes wish it was a little wider but that's why we have interchangeable lens cameras. The focus can be a little slow. Definitely my most used lens.
I just used it to shoot 2 weddings recently. It helps to be able to use the f/2.8 during the dark receptions. It boosts the power of your flash and helps fill in the ambient light. ![]() Model: PENTAX K-5 ISO: 3200 Exposure: 1/100 sec Aperture: 4.0 Focal Length: 55mm Flash Used: Yes I just brought my K-5 and the 28-75mm in for a photoshoot at work instead of using the 1Ds with the L glass we usually use. I think they came out better than the Canon would have done. Some of the shots will be featured on our homepage and they'll probably make some store posters/signs with them. ![]() Model: PENTAX K-5 ISO: 80 Exposure: 1/160 sec Aperture: 7.1 Focal Length: 55mm Flash Used: Off camera I use it for regular portrait work as well. ![]() Model: PENTAX K-5 ISO: 200 Exposure: 1/160 sec Aperture: 6.3 Focal Length: 55mm Flash Used: Off camera

Thanks for the info!
Seems a good lens for the price (around $380 on ebay) and will go well with my 50mm1.8 for shooting weddings and portraits
