I'm pretty sure when I bought my 5D Mark II it was not sealed. It had a sticker from Best Buy on it that you had to cut (If this sticker is cut there is a X% restocking fee). I believe my XTI was the same way. They were never shrink wrapped or anything like that and I don't recall ever having to cut tape.

None of my boxes have been sealed, and none of the packaging has ever been sealed in any way either

When I bought my 60d (from a locally owned shop, not a big box store), the shopkeep opened it up, made sure all the parts were there, then boxed it back up and put it in a shopping bag. I don't remember any shrink wrap.

The sticker on my box was actually from Best Buy not the manufacture. It was a sticker stating that if this seal is broken there is a %15 restocking fee. When I bought my XTI online there was no such sticker.

Interesting!! I still have the original packaging of mine and there are no stickers, no tape, nothing. I bought my camera at London Drugs (husband did) and they open every camera to check the contents. I wonder if thats why there are no security stickers? I of course, assumed it was "new". Now, having been shooting for 9 months, no way to know if the shutter had been clicked before me.
