Well, I'm not usually a complainer, but I'm in a fowl mood just now.
My cat was laying on the floor this evening, and she found a feather on the carpet. She started playing with it, then trying to eat it, and it was SO adorable. I thought it would make an adorable picture. I ran and got my camera, and when I got back, I took away the feather and held it up above her head. That was my wrong move, right there... She jumped up to reach the feather, and I clicked the camera. Unfortunately, she grabbed my thumb instead of the feather. It started bleeding (my thumb, not the feather. ) Now it's covered in a band-aid, and it feels like it's throbbing. Boy, she dug deep into my finger. I never knew cat's claws were that sharp. The cat was sent to the garage for the rest of the night. And what's worse, I have nothing to show for my effort. The picture is blurry, and a complete mess (probably since I move away from he so quickly...) If it had came out looking nice and adorable, I would have felt like it was almost worth getting clawed up for. But it's a terrible mess of a picture. :P Does anyone know how much it costs to get a cat de-clawed?!?!?!!?! -- Edit: Ok, since some of you guys want to see the picture, here it is. It is kinda funny now that I really look at it. ![]()

Don't punish the cat, you are the one that held the feather. It thought you were playing. You might have flinched and the cat grabbed your finger instead. Now...off to the garage you go!
Sorry about your thumb. Bet it hurts like hell.

TNH, I don't know about your area, but I know some vets around here are getting away from declawing cats. It takes away their defenses. It's also a rather inhumane and painful procedure which does nothing to benefit the cat at all. We had a rescue cat that had been declawed. You know what he did to defend himself? He bit, which is way more painful than getting pounced. As you can tell, I do not agree with this practice at all.

How would you like your finger and toe nails ripped out??, I'm not a cat person and prefer to use them as bait, but declawing them if just mean
