Default Not everyone is bad... Thank god...

Yesterday I was up in the mountain taking photos.. I had my new lens with me so I was quite heavily loaded and not everything fitted in my rucksack, so I put my 70-200 into the case it came with and put it over my shoulder.

Anyway, I must have put it down somewhere, and didn't think about it. Walking off, I completely forgot I had it with me, as I didn't use it.

Today I got a phone call saying that someone had found a lens beside the lake that had a piece of paper with my wife's name tucked inside, and had handed it in to the restaurant near the lake, and did I want it back? If so it was at the restaurant.

This is the 70-200 VR2.. A LOT of lens.. Yes. I want it back.. Thank you sooo much.

So tomorrow evening I will take a detour up the mountain to get it ( I took the train to work today so couldn't)

this is one mistake I'll make only once..

So thank you for handing my lens in Mdame Good Samaritan. Thank you for being honest Mrs Restaurant person.. I shall be bringing a HUGE bunch of flowers with me tomorrow. wow.. Close call.. Thank God there are some honest people around

You are a lucky guy!!! Kind of restores your faith in humanity doesn't it? I love hearing stories like this.
If I had found the lens I would have maybe tried it out for a few shots, then turned it in.....but I would have turned it in!

I'm happy for you.

I think there are more good people around than bad people, you just hear more about the bad because for some reason the media thinks bad news is what people want to hear.

Glad to hear you got your lens back.

Lucky, lucky you. Everyone deserves a break like that every once in a while... just don't get used to it! Really glad you're getting your lens back.

That's just awesome that someone would do that. I love nice people.
Once when I was younger, I forgot my camera on a table at Cape Canaveral, and we had to go on a (pre-paid) tour. It was a cheap old film P&S, but I was about 6, and I was HYSTERICAL. So in the evening, we go to the lost in found at Cape Canaveral, and sure enough, someone had gave it in to the desk....along with my hat that I hadn't even realized I lost

+1. The media tries so hard to only show bad news, that it really f@%*(& difficult to have any faith in humanity left. Until of course you meet some people like that.

Back where I come from there are men who do nothing all day but good deeds. They are called phila... er, phila... er, yes, er, Good Deed Doers.

The world needs more of them!
