Default Red?!

Not sure where else to post this so moderators please move if there's a more appropriate forum. Long story short I dropped my camera on the garage floor last week, and the card reader would no longer work. Upgraded to a new camera... took my first shots today w/ the same digi card that was in the dropped one. The shots looked fine in camera, and in thumbnails, but once I loaded them onto my computer (I just opened in Picasa quick) all the thumbnails slowly turned red....Nothing big just some test shots w/ my daughter....

New Camera

Also, if I look at them from the card on my computer those thumbnails come up red as well. Is it a bad card?

Just the thumbnails are bad?
What format are you recording in? (raw, raw+jpeg, jepg)

If the image itself is fine, and it's just the thumbnail, I doubt the card is "bad"... a reformat might be in order though.

Thank you Steve... I shoot in RAW... I've always been able to see my RAW files in Picasa even before I convert them. This camera is much higher mega pixels than my previous so the file sizes are much larger... I'm wondering if that has something to do with it. I will try to format the card too. I didn't install the software on my computer b/c I don't attach the camera to my computer I have a built in card reader... could that be the problem?

I was able to open them in PSE, but I wasn't able to see the file before I opened it.

The software shouldn't be the problem. The problem is with the "built in" jpeg thumbnail which is in the RAW file. The reason I don't think it's a software issue is because the actual RAW file is readable...File size shouldn't be the issue either...

Is it the K10 listed in your signature? (I'm guessing not)
BTW, use the camera to format the card.

Thank you Steve... no the K10D is the one that dropped... I've upgraded to the K-5... I'll try to get what I need off the card, and then format it, and go from there
