Default My husband is turning 50 and feeling low

I'm arranging a surpise 50th meal for him and he doesn't suspect a thing! He's getting quite low and depressed thinking no-one cares. Its really funny! I've been intercepting his calls from his friends recently so he thinks they have all forgotten his bday but really they are coming to his surprise do on Saturday. I've been secretly plotting and planning this for weeks now.

I've ordered a birthday cake with a photo of his very first motorbike on and put a birthday announcement in the local paper of him aged 18 with a full head of hair wearing some very dodgy looking 70's clothes lol. That'll be in the paper on Friday this week.

I've decorated an old pillow case with "Happy 50th Birthday" and will hang that on some railings on the bottom of our street so he will see it on his way to work.

Unfortunately he's not getting a Patek Phillipe watch or the latest Harley motorbike because he never did marry me for my money or my brains but its the simple things in life that are close to his heart like family

Pics in due course!

Good luck with your surprise party. I'm sure he will enjoy it. Can't wait to see the pics.

Sounds great, Rachel. I'm sure it will be worth the effort. Good luck keeping the secret!

I know once I hit 30, I didn't look forward to birthdays like when I was a kid!

Wow you went all out! He's a lucky man to have such a thoughtful wife (and friends who are good at not spoiling surprises)

Hope you all have a great party on Saturday. Tell the old guy the internet also wishes him a happy birthday

LoL.. Last time someone arranged a surprise party for me, I thought everyone had forgotten and went away for the weekend. Apparently they had a lovely time without me.

Mind you, I got the better part of the deal.. I met my wife that weekend for the first time
