Default I haven't ranted yet.... so here goes.

My camera has this little wheel that has a bunch of different Icons on it. One is a mountain, one is a kid with a hat, one is a sports figure looking thing. There are like a squillon of them. You can turn the wheel so that it lands on one of these icons. They don't have any apparent purpose, though, and that's what drives me nutso. Why put an icon if it doesn't do anything?

I saw the picture of the lady with the hat, so I decided to try that one. I pointed the camera at the wall and took a picture. Much to my dismay, there was no resulting picture of a lady with a hat. Just a picture of my stupid wall. I tried a few other icons, and ended up with the same result.

If that wasn't bad enough, one of the icons is actually a word, which I have NO idea what it means. PSAM. or MASP. I'm not sure which way to read it. My wife said I can't read it because it's probably German. At any rate, this particular icon has FOUR different settings. If I don't know what the word means, then how could I possibly know which settings to use ? Stupid camera makers. Probably just another trick to get me to take a picture of my wall.

Now, I know what you guys are thinking. Read the manual, right? Well, I'd love to do that, but the manual wasn't with the dang camera. The camera box only had some small book that went on and on about silly things like 'aperture' and 'focal length'. Probably an advertisement of some sort. I don't have time to read that. It does have a use, though. It props up the 'short leg' of our dinner table so that we don't spill our drinks every time our son gets up from the table.

Since I didn't get the manual with book, I decided to buy myself one. I wen't to amazon.com like 3 weeks ago and ordered an e-book called 'cameras for dummies', or something to that effect. I got an email that said to 'click here' to get the book. I 'clicked here' but the book never came. The postman says he hasn't seen anything from Amazon for me. I think he kept the book for himself.

Well, thanks for letting me vent. I appreciate it.

Hmmm... I think the problem here is you're holding the camera upside down.

The little wheel is to allow you to roll the camera along the ground without scratching it.

I think the reason you didn't get the photos of the lady with the hat is because the fous was wrong..On the dial on the lens, there should be a little sideways number 8. If you set it to that, and make sure you're 8 feet away (Oh um, maybe that should be 8 meters, maybe someone can correct me?) then it should all work fine.

PSAM means "Pretty Stupid Automatic Mode".. I would avoid those, if anyone sees you using them, they'll think you're an idiot. They don't do much anyway.

Have you not found how to switch the camera to "Manual" mode? If you do that, the manual appears on the screen on the back for easy reading.

Don't you know that anything that comes from Brazil takes at least 6 months?? It goes through quarantine 12 times in Norway before they can do final dispatch.

Get you skin smoothing, spot removal and teeth whitening skills ready too.
No female figure looks like a FHM cover straight out of the camera! (those ones all work for Victoria Secret.)
