I use either the pop up flash or my metz 50 af-1 both with diffusers that reach out over the end of the lens where my subject is.

here is the $3 pop up flash diffuser

which gives me results like these -- not bad for $3...

Fantastic for $3!
Is that a homemade job?

Sheesh...I don't think I get much better results from the R1C1 kit I have...

fabulous.....I'm sure theres some pipe around the shop like that I could use thanks!!! (or maybe even some heavy bristle board rolled up? I was playing with my reversing ring to get some macro shots the other day and realized that extra light is a def. must.

I did something similar out of some scrap foam core. It didn't even cost me $3... I like the bottle approach though!

Great tip! I got a reversing ring recently but haven't had a play with it yet. Might have to make me a flash diffuser and have at it.

so as long as the tube/deflector extends past the end of your lens it should work?
