I was going to put this in the macro forum but I thought it better to be here. Mds please feel free to move it. Anyways, I take a lot of macro shots and run into the same issue almost every time. It says to get 17-28 inches away from what you are shooting. While that in itself is a bit difficult its not the main problem. When I push down the button to do the final focus before taking the shot at first it goes into focus then when it show ready to shoot it is completely out of focus? It does it more times than not and is a bit frustrating because it is very hard to get that close to some of the htings I shoot. Any ideas? I have a kodak easy share c195

While I am very new to this myself, this is one issue I have figured out, and I believe it is not uncommon when shooting macro. The solution I have found (and it is probably not the only one) is to use single point auto-focus, focus the object, then switch to manual focus to take the shot. This prevents your camera from continuing to attempt to find a focal point while you are shooting. Other things that will help you are to shoot using a tripod and a remote switch. Camera shake, however slight will cause AF to adjust, especially with this type of shot.
Hope this helps.

Thank you for the assistance. I will ahve to check my camera but I dont beleive that I have a manual focus on it. I think that I can do a single point focus though and will definitely try the tripod. Sometimes it can be tough as I really have to get close to what I am shooting. Again thank you for the help I will try it out this afternoon.
