Default Taking photos for other people..

I was walking back towards my car tonight with my tripod uner my arm and my camera on my shoulder and my gear on my back after taking a few shots of a local castle.. My way of winding down after a difficult day at work, when a couple came up to me and asked me if I wouldbe kind enough to take their photo with the castle in the background. I agreed and put my gear down, and she handed me an EOS 400D or something fairly light with a kit lens. Being a Nikon user, it took me a couple of seconds to familiarise myself with the controls, at which point she states "It's a reflex".. I smile and thank her for that useful piece of information. Take it out of full auto and into aperture priotity. Pose them on a wall nearby and compose the shot.. I open the aperture to throw the castle slightly out of focus, and click a couple off. Then put it back in full auto.

She thanks me as I hand her camera back to her and looks at the live view screen and beams at the photo, turns to her husband, shows him and says...

Wait for it....

Wait..

"Doesn't my camera take nice photos?"

I took it as a complement and walked off..

LoL.. I couldn't wait to get back here!! I nearly laughed out loud as I thought of you lot..

Reminds me of a lady, who on seeing my 2006 vacation pics, asked "What sort of camera are you using?"
(it was a Canon entry level DSLR)
I replied "Why do you want to know?"
She replied "So I can take just as good as photographs as you."

Some people...oh well just gotta live & let live. Maybe she'll learn the difference, but maybe she'll live blissfully in auto for the life of the camera.

Totally understandable. I was going to upgrade to a 400D because I knew it would take better photos than my 1000D
