Default Heroes Never Die

Whether you know it or not, you all knew John MacAleese - well certainly if you played Call of Duty. John Mac was the inspiration for the character Capt Price and was also the lead SAS operative on the balcony in the historic Iranian Embassy siege footage.

As you might know I'm from Hereford - home of the legendary SAS, and today was the funeral of the late John Mac who died last month - almost 2 years to the day after his son and, highly respected, soldier Paul MacAleese was killed in afghan.

I won't lie, Paul was a nutter and certainly someone you wouldn't want to fight :P and Macs daughter Hayley was a pleasure to have at our house parties back in the day.

So I just wanted to say massive respect to these two soldiers (and everyone else serving) who dedicate their lives to being put in dangerous situations for the sake of others. And also to remember that heroes never die.

Props. RIP

John Mac

Thanks for the post. It's humbling to think of the things John and Paul and their brothers have done for us.

Assuming you're not a Brit on holiday, I have to point out that they didn't serve your country.

And to add to OP. At 6.09pm today, my hamster died in my arms

The scenes of him meeting his sons body back from combat had me in tears when it happened.
