I would definitely say that NAIT (in Edmonton) and SAIT (in Calgary) are probably your best choices. From what I know of both institutions, they have a straightforward approach with the end goal being that you have a skill at the end of the program that will get you working. Try getting in as a "mature student" If all else fails just call an advisor, speak to a real person and find out what your options are. I have a friend who took the photography certificate course at SAIT and I think it was very useful to her. I've been toying with the idea of taking a few courses there myself in their continuing education program (I think) Edit: Check out their "continuing education" courses. I think all you have to do to take them is give them money and by the end you have a certificate.
