New Software
Just took the plunge and bought the CS5 / LR3 bundle from Adobe (special rate for being an Element user
 ).I should receive them within a week or so. Do you know of any particular issue such as order of install and such that would make the whole process easier ? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks a million.

MAC or PC?
I tend to install PC in the safe mode. On the MAC it does it all for you automatically. In either case, back up your folder or library just in case. Typically, your existing folder or library automatically migrates if necessary.

That would be PC.
BTW, all my files are on an external drive. Not sure if that may have an effect on the process but I don't think so.

Install Photoshop first.
other than that, make sure you've got lots of patience, because Photoshop installation takes AAAaaaaages... Yawn...
