view NX2 (nikon software) used with canon images

i shot with a nikon and canon today...with the canon files i get a IMG_XXXX.CR2 and a jpeg i can view in NX2...i can't do all the things i want with the JPEG (convert to black and white)...i'm assuming i can't see the CR2(raw file?) with view NX2...i'm getting lightroom 3 but it will not be here for a few weeks....i guess i'm stuck

Yep. But you can get a thirty day trial of Lightroom 3 off the adobe website.

thanks man, i shoulda thought about that....i use REVIT and always download the free trial before i upgrade, and i've paid for lightroom already (half off adorama...back ordered)

also, i recommend getting the Silver efex pro II demo plugin for LR3 while you're at it for B&W conversions.

yea, i havent gotten around to buying it yet, but it was definitely rather nice for B&W conversions!

If you install the trial and get your auth purchased copy within the 30 day time span you can just enter your auth # in and you wont have to reset up LR.
