Nope. A friend of mine enrolled at the local community college. Took one class that cost $90. Used student ID and got CS5 for $125. Then dropped the class the he didn't want to take in the first place. Total cost $215. not a totally bad price.

Though my way was easier. I just found a student and asked them to get it for me. I paid $125 and a 6 pack of longboard beer.

No, anyone involved in education (including school pupils), not just further and higher education. At least that's the case in the US, not sure if Adobe has a different set of policies. Just check the website.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no (every company is different). I would suggest going to the Adobe website and reading the terms and conditions on purchasing with a student discount. They may specify what types of classes you're supposed to be taking (and some companies want proof, like a validation letter from the school and/or having a .edu email address).

Um, I think that contravenes the licence agreement.. I think you have to STAY a student for 2 years, or at least be enrolled in a course that lasts 2 years..The licences are non-ransferrable, anyone using the software that's not entitled to it is actually a pirate!!

student software, academic software | Adobe

Are you sure that's what you did or did you just say that and not mean it?

Actually, I think that the 2 year requirement only applies to the university (as in, it must be an educational facility that at least offers 2 year degrees, regardless if you're enrolled in a degree programme). I do know people who take non-degree community college courses and who have used that without a problem to get the educational version of the software.

Mainly because this: academic discount software eligibility | Adobe is what is required for Adobe to verify you are a student (and there's no requirement that you provide them with information about what type of class / programme you're enrolled in).
