Default Shot suggestions for Germany and Venice

Okay DPS, I’m on my way to Germany to work for 16 days (Sep 24 - Oct 10). I will be in Greding which is about half way between Munich and Nurnberg. Will have early morning and late afternoons every day and one weekend in Germany to shoot. The other weekend (3 Days) I am taking the overnight train to Venice, Italy. This is an opportunity of a life time for me and I would love to hear your suggestions on what to focus on. The travel guides are all 500 pages of what you have to see but if any of you have experience I would love to hear about it. Will post the galley link when I get back.
Thanks in advance for the suggestions,
Chuck

I've recently come back from venice. Get a taxi boat to borano, the houses are all painted different colours and theres a leaning tower.

1. Venice
2. Facebook

Was in Venice earlier this year.. Last train out leaves at 11pm.. Don't miss it, unless you have a hotel booked, or you'll be sleeping in the streets or paying through the nose for a taxi.

Suggest you wander through the back streets, especially evenings.. You'll need a tripod, but there's so many tiny little canals with unexpected sights.. Some lovely timeless photos of abandoned gondola's.. The bridge of sighs is crowded with 300 people taking the same photo down the grand canal.. Got to be done, but don't expect anything original.. Same goes fro St Marks square.. Worth a visit,

Water taxi tickets and Gondola tickets are obtained from outside the rain terminal, just on the river, probably worth a ride, they're not cheap, but if you're only going to be there once, again, why not..

Take some photos of gondolas, and of the guys steering them, they really do wear black and white stripy tops..

But really, in Venice, it's been photographed sooooo much, you'll struggle to find something new, the best views are from Shank's pony. Wandering from the train station to St Marks Square takes about an hour if you're slow, it gets very crowded round the grand canal, and people often miss the wonderful things that can be seen in the back streets..

Venice, by the way, is small. You might want to either consider going beyond it to the sea, or back inland and rent a car, where there's stunning countryside.

We will check out some of the smaller streets. Good thought. My only reserveration about going to Venice was the crowds. I'm planning on trying to shoot St Marks Square at night. Again thaks for the suggestions

You won't need ideas for Bavaria, it's stunning.. The black forest, the mountains.. Rent a car and go for a drive.

You might want to stop off at the Nurberg Ring and take a few action shots.
