I have some party photos that I want to make available to everyone who attended. I have tried to register at Flickr. It appears that I have to have a face book account or a yahoo or Google mail account. I DO NOT want to have any of these.

Is there any way that I can open an account without getting involved with face book or yahoo or Google?

I don't think so - but what's the big deal about having a Yahoo or Google email account. You don't have to utilise it.

Why not set up a spam account at one of the mentioned services? An account you use only for these annoying registrations?

If you're really worried about your privacy, you can use mailinator or maileater while setting up the account.

When my son went on a world tour a year or two ago, he asked me to set up a yahoo account so that we could converse on line. It tried to take over the computer. Every time that I started up, up came yahoo. It took some getting rid of before I could do anything else. Even when i finally took it off the computer, remnants were left until I reinstalled windows.

As regards face book, no way thanks.

Problem solved. Someone pointed me in the direction of Sky Drive in Hotmail. I just uploaded 40 photos there with no problem. I can supply my contacts with a link.

You're referring to Yahoo messenger, which is a totally different service. You don't install anything for Flickr, it's all in the web browser.

If you tried to use messenger, you probably already have an account you could use.

I do not know anything about Sky Drive, could be perfectly fine, but you really should keep in mind that Flickr is a huge photo sharing site with many options for you to implement there. Just sayin'.....

I have both a ymail.com account and a gmail.com account for junk email/sign-up crap as mentioned above and have never had any weird issues with either.
