I've been "hired" to shoot a fashion show on Oct. 28th. Besides the fact that my speedlight died and I'm desperately seeking a new one, I need to know the basics. The "Shooting Fashion for Dummies". I've done a search and though I was offered a plethora of links, didn't see what I was looking for. I KNOW there's something in here for me. I just need a kind soul to point me in the right direction.

Considering I had to Google how to spell fashion, I really should bow out of this job. But since I'm being "paid" in free food, I think I'll stick it out and see if I can learn something. Yes, my client knows of my complete lack of experience and I've warned her "you get what you pay for".

- get a good spot
- bounce flash or use a lumaquest type diffuser
- don't shoot wide open 'les you gots mad skilz
- throw in a few dutch angle shots
- hit the chow line

Sounds like a fun time! Maybe check out some of the photographs in fashion magazines for ideas. At least those you can borrow from a library or browse a magazine rack. Freebies can be good too.
