Default Leather Camera Holsters!!!

Definitely picking one of these up for my Nikon D7000 that I am buying in two days with the 18-200mm travel lens!!!

Thought I'd share since I haven't seen these on any camera related online stores. (Saddle brown w/brass ftw!!)

Ummmmm.... okay.

My parents used to have one of those on their canon ftB. No thanks. When I inherited it, I took the darn thing off and threw it away. Far away. It was tough though. The thing was old and was still in good shape. Just not my cup o' tea. Give me my soft padded lowepro bag any day.

Camera companies used to call these ever ready cases, photographers called them never ready cases because by the time you got the camera out of the case enough to shoot, the shot was gone. In my opinion don't waste your money.

Count me in the "ummm, not so much"category.

Considering the $360 price tag, maybe the NFW category would be more correct.

Good luck with that.

How can you not appreciate the work that went into this custom hand made leather holster? Sometimes, you just have to appreciate the little things. I guess I'm the only one who finds this to be cool!

Pricey, & it just another thing that draws attention to your camera, especially the light brown holster. They look nice, but I'd rather have a nicely padded nylon bag to carry my camera in. Still using the very same bag I had for my last film camera more than a decade ago. It's showing small signs of wear, but is still growing strong. Cost: Just under a $100.00. I've sure gotten my money's worth out of it.

well the thing i like about this is it is small and compact, it is almost the exact size of the camera. it fits the Nikon D7000 with the 18-200mm VR lens, which is the only thing im going to be carrying around with me in Iraq. It will protect it from me hitting it on the many Cement T-Walls and metal doors that are all over this place. And it looks nice too. Its Hand made, and they will custom make one to fit any size lens you may want. Within reason... I don't think they would make one for the Sigma 200-500 2.8, but you know what i mean.

I can appreciate good quality leather holsters...just not for cameras.
I don't use a fitted case. In decades of camera ownership I have never used a fitted case. Every one I have ever seen has been in the closet or a drawer collecting dust (and almost invariably with the camera still inside of it ). Biggest problem is using different lenses and having them not fit. Now back in the day, manufacturers used to sell different nose pieces to fit different lenses, but that never went over very well. You'll have a similar issue here when you decide to use a lens that doesn't fit the case. Your case stays and home and now what? No strap, you are carrying the camera in your hand. You switch back to a lens that fits and drag the case out again?
Having the camera at the ready with a strap like the Black Rapid and a good bag that I could work out of would be my choice.
