Default Is there a reason why we allow politically motivated threads here?

It is a legitimate question. To h@ll with freedom of speech. DPS is the equivalent of private property and it should be respected. I'd kick your a$$ if you put a political sign on my property.

But it seems that at least once a month some whiner posts some politically motivated crap about how people ( very isolated incidents) gaming the system and are the norm. No matter the warnings one of these festering sores ends up on DPS a month.

Why do people who hate government so much want to be in control of it?

Cue the whiners

Pageviews and advertising dollars. Each time someone reads one of those threads, DPS gets to display some ads (unless the viewer is using an ad blocker).

It's just a part of forum life. Politics are part of life, and regardless of the specialty of a forum, there's going to be a general/offtopic section for chatting/ranting about life. I would imagine even a political forum has an offtopic section, although in that section, I would imagine posting about politics is frowned upon or moderated.

Because political threads are like watching drunken hillbillies (sorry - Appalachian Americans) fight. Sure, all the participants are morons, but it can be damn funny to watch.

That's a very antagonistic start to a thread Izzy.. Almost like you're stepping up for a fight.. As usual.

Funny how you're always so eager to offer everyone your forceful opinion and call everyone who disagrees with you a whiner.. I believe in the states you have something called "freedom of speech" don't you? Or is that only for people who agree with you?

Izzy:

And to answer your question:
Because, when handled and participated by open minded, mature, adults (even of differing views) these sorts of dicussions can be enlightening, liberating, fun, inspiring, etc.. the reason you had to ask this question is because I believe you don't understand that simple fact... which is why all of us have failed to see you be able to participate in any constructive manner in any of these types of discussions.

The way you worded this exact thread is a prime example. "cue the whiners"? Really? And you want people to take you seriously?
