Does anybody know if taking cameras through airport x-ray screening is damaging to cameras?
I think it would damage memory cards but what about the rest of the camera electonics? Has anyone had experience of this? |

I travel for a living regularly, through an airport at least twice a month (6 trips through airports this month!) I take my camera everywhere.. So far I've not had any problems. The memory cards claim to be fine with the machines, and since they work in a way that's nothing to do with the low level radiation produced by the machines, I tend to believe them.

Took my 500D through xray scanner twice. No biggie. No lost pictures.

Doesn't harm them of the CF cards at all.

It's fine. Undeveloped film is the only thing that you don't want to put through the scanner.
