I'm a firm believer that one can never have too many books!

LOL I suppose that's true, but my photo books have outgrown their shelf on my bookcase. Plus I found old black & white photos from my photo class days, etc. My hubby is going to make me swear I'll never ever buy another photography book or magazine.
On the other hand, it's nice to have them displayed where I can see what I have & easily access them.

I've looked at them, played with them, thought about them...but said "no."
I love the feel and smell of books too much. I adore afternoons at the library with my kids. I love the feel of the weight of books in my tote bag bringing them home to read. I can't even stand books on tape/CD in my car. Did I mention I love the feel and smell of books? I give away the ones I know I'm done with. The ones I know I'll read again, I keep. A lot get given away, but sadly, lol. |

Some are going to have to find new homes, unfortunately. I'm just not quite sure what we'll part with yet.

I have a different but related problem: It's too easy to buy books on amazon! The other day I was browsing André Kertész books there and that kinda went like this:

I just moved house last month and in the pack up I gave away 8 banana boxes of books to charity. That was only about half my library - I had to made the sad decision to let some go because I knew I wasn't going to read them again.
![]() Old house had some built in bookshelves, new house doesn't. Still not sure where I'm putting about 6 boxes of books.... I love buying books & my family actually sigh when I go into a bookshop because I never come out empty-handed

Yesterday, I thought I had rounded up all of my photog books & put them on 2 shelves. This morning, I discovered 2 more books!
Luckily, I was able to find a little space for them. They are crammed into the bookcase. Jeeze, my collection is breeding like rabbits! Unfortunately, I have a very small house with a tiny office (books are in 4 out of 5 living spaces). There's only so much room for stuff..between all the photog stuff & all of hubby's geek stuff, we are quickly running out of adequate room. I am trying my best to consolidate all our books into spaces that are logical. Obviously, I want my photog books in the office, since that's where I do the majority of my editing. Other books can have space in other rooms where they are read.I hate parting with books, & some will have to go. However, most of my photog books will stay. Unless it's so outdated that I will never browse through it again. In that case, I'll likely give it the heave ho. Besides, that makes room for new books.
