I ran into a problem yesterday that brought me to this website so I wonder if anyone can help me.
I have a dSLR as well as a point and shoot which shoots movie clips too. The dSLR is a conventional one, an Olympus 510; no movie capability. I wanted to a shoot high quality movie of my wife as she competed in the "World bodysurfing championships" The point and shoot cannot compete with the dSLR so I decided to shoot using the burst sequencing option on the Olympus, just holding down the shutter button to get a sequence as she rode down the wave. I thought to combine the shots to create a time-lapse movie. The images were each pretty good but when i tried to create a time lapse sequence out of them using Quicktime Pro, all I got was a black screen. Can you help me solve this problem? Each shot is about 6.5 mb so when i got the black screen I tried reducing the number of images in the sequence, then I changed the fps and finally degraded a few shots to about 1/2 mb each. The result was always the same. The sequence files seem to contain the digital information as they had the appropriate size and the timeline pointer at the bottom moved as expected, yet all i got was a black screen. Do you have any idea what could be causing this? I am sure there is a detail, a setting, something that is preventing me from getting the sequence to work. I thought that others must've bumped into this before me. If you can help, i'd really appreciate it. Thanks Nicholas |
