Default med format?

I kinda want to play with medium format a little. However I don't want to spend a lot. Just wondering if anyone knows of old MF cameras that can be got at a bargain. I have heard that the Pentax 645 is great, But that's a little over my budget.

Mind you that I have not really done a lot of research about this. I was just thinking it would be fun to play around with.

That's what I saw. I also thought that if I get a little more serious that's what I would get.

I was just wondering if there was something under $150 that I could get just too see if I like it.

Maybe an old Rolleicord fixed-lens TLR?

Just have a look through EBAY - quite a few 120 twin lens reflexes are available.

get the Mamiya 645AF with the 80mm 2.8 kit lens. Mamiya 645 w. AF 80mm lens 120 film camera kit ex+ | eBay This is the second best medium format 6x4.5 to the Contax 645. But at a quarter of the price. You're looking at $2,500 - $3,000 for a decent contax 645 kit. The Pentax 645 makes a clean 3rd, less features but only about $400 for a good one PENTAX 645 KIT...75MM 2.8, 120 INSERT, FLASH 307-796 | eBay, but not as good as the Pentax 645N which in that case you might as well get the Mamiya for the same price of around $750-$1000...

Ken Rockwell stated that the 18-200 VR 3.5-5.6 was a miracle lens that replaced an entire bag of lenses, including I believe a 70-200 f2.8 and several primes, so I take what he says with a pinch of salt.. I've a feeling he's paid to say the things he says

Nikon 18-200mm

I've noticed a few Hasselblad 500 series cameras showing up for about $1000.. Ok, perhaps that's a bit more than the Pentax, but it's a HASSELBLAD!!!

I may well see if I can get a pentax. But right now the 50 1.4 is first on the "blow as soon as I get the paycheck" list

Hmmmm, I wonder if I could ask Mommy and Daddy for a H4D- 200MS for Christmas?

So what is your style?

You mention, play, fun, cheap, bargain... that's what we/I were going off on from which I'd argue Lomography cameras fit those qualities more than any of the cameras mentioned so far.
