I prefer my images with no artificial border added to the image, even viewing others work I prefer not to see it because my eyes goes straight to the borders. But some images with camouflaged borders that goes with the image's feel and tone, maybe if done right.
What do you guys prefer? EDIT UPDATE: Sorry forgot to mention, borders to the original photo, like borders added on via processing (not on the printed photo).

As a matter of personal preference, I always think images look better on black, and as such, for work posted online, I apply a very slender black border, just to give some separation. Of course now FB has it's clumsy black viewing screen, it's not really needed...

Since you didn't specify format, I said "sometimes". When I print and frame pictures, I generally prefer that the picture be matted. I'm not much of a fan of gallery wraps and the like.
Other than that, there has to be some special reason before I'll add a border, though viewing on black or white serves essentially the same purpose.

I've never really thought about it. I voted no border ever but that's only because I don't bother to add one to my photos.

I said "sometimes" as pictures need to stand out from the BG of a page....
Now had the question been about "frames" then my answer would have been "never".
