I did not post this in gear as it's video and not still.
So I want to get back into video. My current camcorder is SD and well, crap. My "good" camera is my 50D. As I see it I have three choices. 1. Get a dedicated camcorder. Mind you, I don't care about all the marketing crap(3d etc) just IQ. 2. Wait until I replace my 50d. I would get either a 7d or a 5d (mk3?). The IQ from a large CMOS really sounds good. I don't have a problem with pulling focus manually. I used to do it all the time. 3. Get a used 550d. Use it for video. It would also be nice to have a second body for events and such. Thanx in advance for imput. Please keep in mind that I'm a student. And therefor don't have a lot of $.

What kind of video are you trying to do, and what's your budget?

Documentary and short film. My budget? what I need. But I would prefer under $700. The idea of using my fast (1.4) DSLR lenses really sounds good.
