Default Nice surprise

I've been looking for a battery pack for my D7000 for some time.. Shooting Portrait is awkward, so I've been scanning fleabay for one.

Anyway, I "happened" to be looking through the window of my local camera sop, staring whistfully at a D3x when I noticed in their second hand section, something that looked like a battery grip for my camera.. It was badly labled, and right at the back, and the price was about half what I was expecting to pay.

Anyhow, I went in, holding my breath, trying not to get too excited.. I asked the shop assistant about it, he said it was indeed a grip for the D7000. I asked if he had the box for it, and he did.. So we struck a deal.. And now I'm the owner of an original Nikon battery grip for my camera.. Buttons and switches and everything..

No.. Wait.. That's not the end of it.. I looked inside the box when I got to the office, expecting only to find the instruction book.. And what do I find.. Well, in there is the AA battery holder.. Cool, so now I can have real power backup.. Also is a stamped warranty card for Nikon that's still got 6 months to run.. This grip is only 6 months old!!

And then.. To add a little icing on this already rather fruitful cake, inside the grip, when I opened it, I noticed something that hadn't clicked.. Inside there was a spare EN-EL15 battery.. Nikon.. Also looking new, can't be more than 6 months old... These batteries sell for about half what I paid for the whole grip!

So today I'm a happy person.. I think I'll go and buy a lottery ticket!

It's nice to have a good win!

I got a copy from HK with not only the AA battery cartridge but also an EN-EL15S battery cartridge (a sealed battery & cartridge in one) for under $100AU and two EL15 Nikon Batteries for around $40ea. I don't how much better the genuine one is, but this feels and works great.

LoL.. I meant it also had the EL-EN15 cartridge installed.. That was where I found the battery.

I was looking at those knock offs, but this fell into my lap..

Awesome find, but the warranty is worthless. They are non-transferable.

Great find!
I've only got one "real camera store" in my area and they kind of suck....
