Default You know you need a haircut when...

... you get a wasp caught in your hair and, while trying to brush it out, get stung in the finger, the wasp gets stuck and you're in agony for the next few hours.

..here's to anaphylactic shock!

LOL! Sorry about the wasp bite! I can relate. I used to have really long hair. I smoke, and I ducked a lit cigarette out the car window one time. It flew back in and landed in my hair. I couldn't get it out. I finally had to pull over and do a crazy man dance to get it out of my hair. Nonetheless, it wasn't long after that that I cut it, and I started using ashtrays. Avoiding the potential for forest fires is a good thing too!

When a wasp gets caught in your hair, you shouldn't try to brush it out, instead, you're supposed to simply smash it with your hand. That way you'll kill it instantly and it won't have a chance to stab you. My father keeps bees and we do it all the time. And when a bee or wasp chases you, there's no running away, you just stop and wait for it to land on your head and then smash it.

OMG! I would have just had a heart attack. I am deathly allergic and just seeing one fly near me makes my heart rate go up and I break out in a cold sweat.

I got attacked by a swarm of hornets once.. Got 23 stings and ended up in hospital.. NOT a fun Sunday afternoon, I ended up puffed like a pink beach ball, apparently I was lucky not to have had a bad reaction to the poisons... Running DOES work, (or it did or me!) you've just got to run far and fast, they're territorial and when they no longer feel you're a threat they'll leave you alone.. Smashing them when they're swarming is a mistake.. Makes them madder in my experience. Screamming like an old woman and waving your hands about didn't seem to phase them either!

I was expecting something like:
"when you can braid the hair growing out of your ears"....

At least that's how I judge when I need a haircut.
