Probably not!
Imo, technically most of those aren't great photographs. But some are great images. They help tell the story of course and any newspaper following/wanting such stories would most likely be more than happy to have them. With a quality camera and the ability to shoot raw and have a multitude of settings, the scope of photographic genres increases, many problems are reduced, and are more suitable for the enornous possiblitiies of post processing programs. We all know it not always the camera that takes great photographs, but in many cases, they may sure help - in others cases not so much.

So what you're saying is that it's being in the right place at the right time.. Basically the photojournalist needs to be a great story teller, but their photography skills don't have to match..
Somehow I agree.. If you want to know what's happening in a war torn part of the world, you aren't so interested in the quality of the photo as much as what the photo says.. When you can marry great photos with great images, you're in Pulitzer prize territory.

It really has nothing to do with what type of equipment used. It's all about seeing photos and telling stories with them. That's what a photojournalist does!
