Default Photographic Withdrawal

Not having a good DSLR is KILLING ME!

I think I'm going thru withdrawal.

I can't stop thinking about all of the pictures I'm not taking.
I keep envisioning shots I want to take.
I'm constantly thinking of the fall migration that will be here very soon...

I keep looking at cameras.
The wait for the D4 is just too much!

I NEED something for my addiction!

I almost bought a D2xs
I almost bought a D3s
I almost bought a D3x

I did buy a D7000.

Hopefully when it gets here the shakes will go away.

Funny, that's kind of where I was before I lost the D3....

Take the G10 out. Sure, it's only methadone, but until the hard stuff arrives...

Taken with the G9, lensmate, and Hoya R72 infrared filter with Ultrapod, while my XT was in the shop and before I got my refurbed 50D.

I've been meaning to do that...I've wanted to take "street" portraits of the homeless around the city.
Just never seem to actually do it....

Stop complaining about getting withdrawal symptoms when you've a vial full of methadone sitting on the shelf next to you that you don't want to stick it in your arm!

The D700 is a great camera, I've got one and love it.

Haha!
But mine will be better...it has more zeros!

The reason I chose this camera was overall performance AND the crop sensor for birds.
The question will be if the D4 will be competitive for this use (or if it drops the D3x price enough).

I gotta say, having my 50D for birding along with my 5Dii is a really sweet combo. I think you were smart to go for a crop as your stop-gap camera. It'll still be nice to have when you finally get your D4. The best part is going out into the field with a wide on the full frame for landscape shooting or a macro for flower macros and the supertele on the crop is that when the birds finally do show up, you just switch cameras instead of cursing while you fumble the lens change.

And for now, you can just use the G10 for the landscape/macro stuff.
