I don't have any use for a FF camera as a hobbyisy so the a900 was not an option for me (would have had to sell all of my lenses anyway as they were not for FF cameras).

I did take the kit lens for now as I was lens bare after my Sony sell off. After debating on the Nikon forums for a few days I did decide on the Sigma 70-200mm HSM OS lens as I shoot moslty kids sports, several in low light/no flash (gymnastics/diving/downhill ski racing).
I had many say to stick w/Nikon/Nikkor lenses but I had great luck w/my Tamron 70-200mm lens even though it was truly beastly. I will eventuall rebuild my lens collection but this is a good start for me.

SK-Did the camera arrive yet? Initial thoughts?
Sony cameras are a high priced piece of crap, especially the lenses. I don't understand why anyone would purchase them in the first place. Sony makes great audio equipment......but, not camera and lenses.

Price and not knowing any better.. Sony don't cost as much as Canon or Nikon.. I can't explain the second one I bought.
