Default Microsoft RAW codac pack

Microsoft has released a codac pack, adding RAW support to windows.. Now you can see thumbnails of RAW files like you would JPEG files.

Just thought I'd spread the news for you Windows users..

It doesn't work for me either Fuji RAF files or DNG
I really don't see the problem, if Google can manage it why can't Microsoft

FastPictureViewer Codec Pack: PSD, CR2, NEF, DNG RAW codecs (and more) for Windows 7, Vista and XP

This is what I used as the Microsoft one still does not support the D7000 among others and some other brand models. It's $14.95, check your camera model on the list at the bottom of page. It works like a charm for me - I can't wait for Microslow.

LoL... I think this is a collection of 3rd party codecs for every camera.. Nikon haven't released a codec for 64 bit for the D7000 so M$ can't include them.

But your right, the codec pack you pointed at works a treat.. It's just the M$ one is free.

Thanks for posting this. The free Microsoft one does support my camera (an older one - Canon Rebel XS) and worked fine on Vista Home Premium SP2. I did have to reboot before I could see the thumbnail previews though.

They must not have released one for the D3100 either. Most new computers now are 64 bit though, so its sort of odd that they wouldnt think of that.
