Default Any suggestions??

I was a 2nd shooter on a wedding in June. I edited and gave copies of my photos to the 1st shooter.. It is now August and he hasn't given the B & G their photos yet.. Everyday I think about this and he says he's not finished editing his yet (he has 3 daughters ((2 going into college)), a full time job and a baby on the way.. very very busy guy). Granted, we did this wedding for free for his friend (the bride's father), but long enough is too long if you ask me!! I know the bride wants to see her photos, I've seen her question asking about them on facebook.. I feel so bad about this and I really don't want to get a bad rep myself for when I do branch out on my own.. Any advice out there? Thanks!

Suggest you talk to the other photographer and ask if you can help with the editing.. And also ask if you can give them a showing of your own photos.. When I got married, the photos were waiting for us when we got back from our 3 week honeymoon.

Default Totally agree

This was the case while I was a second shooter. I would go through editing and it still seemed my photog took wayyyyy too long to get the images out to couples. The happy couple turns angry and agitated rather quickly with lame excuses.

My theory, in this digital age, is that people are accustomed to seeing images rather quickly. I think it's one thing if you are leaving for a week's vacation yourself the day after a wedding or if you have an urgent family matter. That being said, I think it's in a photographer's best interest to not take on a wedding unless they can crank the photos out in a reasonably agreed upon time (1-2 weeks tops).

Hope they get their images soon!

*free* second photog to a *free* first photographer?

I'd think the client should be happy to ever get any pictures (but of course they'll be annoyed by the delay)
What did you think you were getting into?......

Yep.. Client was a friend of 1st photog's dad.. (maybe not now, huh??!!) I just wanted to help and get experience and have shots for my own portfolio.. I'm feeling pretty annoyed now, myself..
