Default Books you'd recommend

As the title says, we all like a good read, so which books would you recommend, and why? Here's a few of mine.. The main reason for recommending them is that they're are some realy superb photos in them to illustrate the points made, not too much writing and lots to look at.

Perfect Exposure: The Professional Guide to Capturing Perfect Digital Photographs: Amazon.co.uk: Michael Freeman: Books
Transient Light: A Photographic Guide to Capturing the Medium: Amazon.co.uk: Ian Cameron: Books

Four books I found really easy to follow and useful especially when first starting out in the hobby. Written without any pretention or unnecessary jargon.

Understanding Exposure: How to Shoot Great Photographs with a Film or Digital Camera: Amazon.co.uk: Bryan Peterson: Books
Understanding Shutterspeed: Action, Low-Light & Creative Photography: Action, Low-Light and Creative Photography: Amazon.co.uk: Bryan Peterson: Books
Understanding Close-Up Photography: Creative Close Encounters with or Without a Macro Lens: Amazon.co.uk: Bryan Peterson: Books
Understanding Digital Photography: Techniques for Getting Great Pictures: Amazon.co.uk: Bryan Peterson: Books

I just checked this out Jon, based on your recommendation and ordered it. Seems to be just what I'm looking for tyvm! (IMO you were the best Dr Who btw..........*ahem* Apologies for lack of originality. *ashamed*). http://www.amazon.co.uk/Transient-Li...d_bxgy_b_img_c
