ALL WEEK I've resisted buying a 70-400 G lens, telling myself that having the 70-300 G, I really didn't 'need' it. Anyway.......the seller relisted it ! £50 less! What was I supposed to do?
I live not too far from the seller and she's letting me pick it up and check it over too, can't say fairer than that. Now I feel excited and guilty all at once. My next dilemma is, do I sell my 70-300 G? It's a great lens and I'm loathe to part with it, but is there any practical reason to keep both? Off to bed now to sleep on it. Opinions on this quandry would be appreciated.

And here lies the constant dilemma of all photographers.. To hold onto gear that has served them well once they upgrade..
The answer lies in your heart Dodge.. You know you want to hang on to all your gear. ![]() So my advice is to sell it, knowing full well you probably won't! I've got tons of lenses sitting about waiting for me to use them again.. Faithful friends of times gone by.. Will I sell them? Nah.. I managed to blag a whole cupboard to hide my gear from my wife.. It's not until it starts spilling out around the house again that I'll consider eBaying my old gear..

Well, went and picked it up today, nice pleasant trip down to North Yorkshire and lots of stops on the way home to play with my new toy.
Love it to bits already. I have a feeling though that I will end up selling the 70-300.......the only advantage it has really is the significantly smaller size and weight, but I can live with that. Plus it'll free up significant funds towards my next lens should one take my fancy in the future. The chap I got it from had an A900 and an assortment of Zeiss lenses as well as some really nice fast primes, all top end stuff, so had an hour drooling and checking out his gear too. (Jammy so and so even had an A1 printer). Definately one of my better days, it was even warm and sunny

Sunny?? In Northumberland? Well I suppose it's got to happen occasionally!
![]() Don't sell the 70-300 yet.. You may find the extra weight of the 400 makes it a pain to take out on "just in case" trips.. Now it's time to find out how good it is... Have fun!
