What’s Your Preference?

Okay, had a photo shoot with a couple of little boys ages 5 and 7. They were darlings except they didn't want to cooperate on the photos that I wanted to pose. So I struck a deal with them. If you will let me take 2 photos of you as I like then I will take 2 of you being silly...ended up being a really good shoot with some good pictures. And some of the silly ones are the ones their mother and I both loved!

Just an idea for some of you who struggle photographing kids!

Let them be kids!

Good advice. Kids just need to be kids, & they are seldom like miniture adults.

I did a portrait shoot of a friend's kids last year. The 9 & 5 year olds were very well behaved and posed as directed. The 3 yr old however did occasionally pose but mostly hammed it up for the camera and was generally silly. Most of the shots of the older two look posed and slightly awkward while the shots of the younger one look natural and fun and really show her cheeky personality.
Lesson learnt
