New to DPS...

Hey,
I have been reading the DPS e-newsletter for over a year now and have just signed up for the forum today.

I have been doing photography in some sense or another for as long as I can remember - whether it was with an old 35mm point and shoot vivitar or with my current Sony A700.

Id love some constructive feedback on my work... I can only go by what I have been told and so far every one says Im doing well. But thats based on family and friends.

Sooo any advice from the gallery would be appreciated.

Welcome to DPS. What took you so long? BTW, it'll be easier to get comments on your pictures if you post them here, rather than giving the link.

Welcome to DPS. We are sort of a family around here. Just ask a question and you will get some educated answers. You might even get some smart assed answers from people like me. We are all willing to help when we can - I think

I invite you to post in the SYS or SYS Crit sections. This will give you feedback on your images. Sometimes these areas go like gang busters and sometimes they are slow so don't be too bothered if you don't get a response in the SYS section. Help us in begging for a like button.

Ok, I will try to figure out how to post my images in the post...

And I will pop over to the sys area and see whats up there.

It took me a while to consider my work 'good enough' to make public - I have a very high level of criticism on my self and find I dont measure up to my own standards. Very self destructive. hahaha

I like the idea of it being a family oriented area, and I have MANY questions as I dont have any 'formal training' on photography so I dont know a lot of the basics that would help me out. I can take a good/great image but if Im asked why I chose those settings I seldom know why other then I thought it would create a cool image... hahaha

And I have a lot of patience so Im not opposed to waiting for replies.
