Default Worst event you've shot

I just shot an event and the lighting was awful. There were different types of lights in the room and during the event they kept switching various lights on/off for powerpoint presentations.

Some windows had blinds, others didn't and since the sun was setting, the color and intensity of the mixed light changed depending which way you faced.

It was also one of those partitionable rooms, so the ceiling had these drop partitions of about 2 feet, which made bouncing the flash really tricky. The walls alternated gray and taupe, so no help there either.

This was definitely the worst event I've shot, what was yours?

It was my daughter's Christening. The church photos were fine but we had a buffet in a hotel and the walls were red, the ceilings were really high, tiny windows and atrocious lamps on the walls. Yuk! I'm not a pro so it was only my own photo that meant something to me.

An old family friend's birthday party. It was held in a converted movie theater. It was dark. It was huge. The ceiling was about 20' high and painted black.

11:30am wedding, not a cloud in the sky - bright yellow interior lighting. On the exit of the chapel most of the exposures were crap. Even tucking these people under trees did not seem to help.

That was my first wedding.

bright sunny outdoor wedding, no trees or shade of any kind at the outdoor ceremony.

drunk groom

bride didn't speak much english and was very rude, wearing a white dress and had dark skin with pitch black hair.

celebrant screwed up order of ceremony and got one of their names wrong

half of the bridalparty got lost (TWICE) between our shoot locations.

Cub Scout Summer camp.

Outside, not one cloud, perents who think they know the best way to take the photos, and scouts who do not know the meaning of sit still.

How about everybody post photos from their worst event. That way we can ether gloat or applaud.

I will start.

As for my first wedding they were all on film. Which made matter worse. I had no idea the hell that was in my camera.

Well I had 2. The pictures turned out great but it was technically physical and emotionally changed. Both occurred out side in very hot weather.. And very sunny..

1. Was my first wedding was a 4 pm wedding. Outside ceremony 105 degree weather right after it rained so humidity was so bad my lenses fogged over.. I almost passed out the bride was horrible to me because she was family, and did not want to listen to me.. So we go from a bright and sunny to dark and a 30+ foot ceiling for the reception.. LOL

2. Was the last wedding I shot it was at 2pm the sun was insanely bright hat my AB400 at full power just to fill the shadows. In portraits however i only used it 1 or 3 times because of having to move so much. I did the the thing to my best ability.. It was in the high 90s and everything was a walk up or down a hill. So i really did not have a central location for my equipment.. They loved the pictures but it wore me out..

3. Just the getting ready shots of a wedding last summer. It was in a dark basement church practice room with a black roof. You can tell why that sucked..
